Hanne Delang - Office assistant

Within MindWave I take on different roles: HR, administration, organizing team events, booking flights for Greek colleagues ...

Hanne has been working as an office assistant at MindWave for a little over 2 years. She just became a mother and consciously aims for a healthy balance between work and family life.

A job full of variety

"My job can best be summarized as 'office assistant'. In practice, I do all kinds of things. I like that, as I would no longer like to focus on only one task. At my previous job, I worked as a recruiter. I was on the phone all day. What really makes me happy in my job nowadays is the variety of tasks and the opportunities to learn. That gives me so much motivation.

For instance, a while ago I asked if I could also help with the invoicing. Johan, our business manager, took the time to teach me how it works. And there you are: now I can do my share there too. We also get an annual budget to spend on training. I make good use of this because I know that I can still learn a lot. If I can keep learning, I am glad to do so.

How are you really doing?

"MindWave is known for its people-oriented approach. Everyone can reach Johan, our business manager, personally. Just by calling, texting or whatsapping. Since we're still a quite small organization, everyone can always contact me with their questions too. No one is treated like a number.

Colleagues ask sincerely "how are you?" and when something is wrong, we make time to listen. When something happens in your home situation, you can always count on their understanding. Colleagues ask sincerely "how are you?" and when something is wrong, we make time to listen. When something happens in your home situation, you can always count on support. My daughter is 2.5 years old now and she has been sick quite often. Then, co-workers understood when I wasn't instantly available.”

MindWave gives me peace of mind

"On a personal level, working at MindWave creates peace of mind. I can decide for myself whether I go to the office today or not, for example. There is no obligation to be in the office for say 50% of the time. My partner serves in the army and is not at home during the week. That means I'm on my own to make dinner, go to the supermarket... It gives me peace that I can arrange my own schedule. At MindWave, there is minimal control and a lot of trust. I will always keep that trust, because it is so dear to me and gives me the opportunity to keep a good work-life balance."

The more the merrier

"In the future, I definitely see myself taking on more responsibilities within the company. If I may dream really wildly, I hope that in a few years MindWave will have really grown while we can also have kept the human aspect. After all, the more the merrier!"
